The Senior Fine Jewelry Ambassador is a pivotal leader in the sales process, responsible for ensuring a seamless and effective closing experience.   By leveraging exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, the SFJ drives final purchasing decisions, enhances client relationships, and fosters an environment of trust and credibility. This role requires expert-level engagement with guests, ensuring the successful closure of premium sales transactions.

What you’ll be doing:

 Influence and Close Sales:

  • Meet or exceed sales closing targets, ensuring gross margin goals are consistently met.
  • Deliver persuasive and tailored presentations to clients, showcasing expertise and instilling confidence.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, maintaining a positive and trustworthy image to uphold brand standards.
  • Train and motivate the team to promote specific products or collections, emphasizing closing strategies.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the products being sold, including features, benefits, and competitive differentiators, to instill confidence in clients and drive sales success.

Operational Excellence:

  • Responsible to be an active participant in all sales meetings, discussing on board voyage plan results, adaptations, and support needed. SFJ is expected to recommend solutions and ownership for goal achievement.
  • Responsible to provide weekly update to FJ/ST Manager and corporate office for Trunk Show inventory
  • Accountable for merchandising presentation and brand standards
  • Regularly reviews collection and makes recommendation on presentation changes.
  • Supports inventory maintenance including cycle counts and perpetual inventory log maintenance and validation of products.
  • Partners with Home Office and Vendor for timely replenishment requests using merchandise guidelines.
  • Required Participation in Weekly reporting, team and individual calls as needed.
  • Responsible for ongoing training and development of jewelry and watch specialist knowledge of truck show products.
  • Ensures compliance to all merchandise pricing and discounting policies and protocols are met.
  • Comply with Starboard Asset Protection Standards

Relationship Management:

  • Establishes themselves as a subject matter expert
  • Collaborates with Fine Jewelry/Swiss Timepiece Manager and Luxury Shopping Host to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills, executing thank you notes and any other communication to company standard.
  • Handle client inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly, with professionalism and composure.

What we’re looking for:

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years in sales, hospitality, or retail, with a focus on luxury or high-value transactions.
  • Previous experience as a Brand Ambassador or in a luxury sales environment is preferred.
  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • Proficient in public speaking, with expertise in storytelling and group engagement.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Adept at problem-solving and maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales software systems.
  • Strong product knowledge, including detailed understanding of features, benefits, craftsmanship, and industry trends, to confidently educate and guide clients during the sales process.

Non-negotiables

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Able to travel and live/work on a ship.  Able to work 6 month contracts. Able to work 7 days a week, up to 77 hours.
  • Possess a valid passport and when possible seaman book copy.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to physically participate and effectively contribute in cruise line’s boat safety and emergency lifesaving drills as required.
  • Able to lift, pull, and push boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store and lockers up to 55 lbs. using the appropriate safety equipment as required.
  • Proficient English reading, writing and speaking skills.
  • Professional appearance, dress and grooming according to company and cruise line standards.
  • STCW certification as required by cruise line.
